Pope Alexander VI issued a papal bull or decree named the Doctrine of Discovery, “Inter Caetera," in which he authorises Spain and Portugal to colonise the Americas and its Native peoples as subjects. The decree asserts the rights of Spain and Portugal to colonise, convert, and enslave. It also justifies the enslavement of Africans and Indigenous Peoples of North and South America
The Doctrine of Discovery was the Bull which stated that any land not inhabited by Christians was available to be "discovered and claimed", to be exploited by Christian rulers. It was declared that:
"the Catholic faith and the Christian religion be exalted and be everywhere increased and spread, that the health of souls be cared for and that barbarous nations be overthrown and brought to the faith itself." ~Doctrine of Discovery, 1493
Five years ago, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission called on all levels of government to “fully adopt and implement” the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP). Since that time, experts in Indigenous law have been called forward, and vetted using only the voices that fit their agenda such as oil money man Shawn Atleo.
Just as in the Christian Age of Discovery, the Canadian Liberal colonial government uses propaganda and pageantry to cover their genocidal intentions, and who better to be at the helm than a drama teacher with a history of racist behaviour. Many could argue that he learned these tactics from Pierre Trudeau who in 1969 introduced the "White Paper" after introduction of the Indigenous rights framework which was immediately dubbed "White Paper 2.0". Now, we have C-15 coming to put more nails in the coffin were they are still attempting to stuff our voices.
The racism is embedded in the very system that proclaims to be making decisions in the best interest of the people of the country; the irony is the people know they will lie and put them in their positions anyway without actually listening to the voices of Indigenous people who have made life work here for thousands of years. Our governance structures were built to accept, and absorb, everyone. When the coloniser walked through the Eastern Door there were responsibilities established and they are maintained to this day.
The sudden conception of the term Rule of Law came in to play early in the political playbook by the Federal government but immediately backfired. This being because the rule of law is embedded in pre-colonial treaties which have been broken. Canada does not have any land in which to create laws, it is all under the care of Indigenous people and Bill C-15 intends to keep our voices silenced in the name of their colonial lies and genocidal actions across the nation.
The connection to man camps, oil/gas, mining and all other forms of resource extraction lead to higher cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and boys; higher cases of substance abuse, mental health issues, and the list goes on which is a direct result of continued colonization perpetuated by Justin Trudeau and his propaganda machines the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Ontario Provincial Police (and yes, all other foreign policing services - Indigenous peoples did not have the need for this colonial concept) which run their own news departments. Police running their own news is literally part of the definition of propaganda, and then there is state run propaganda such as the CBC, etc.
When all the filters are taken off for the truth to be laid out plain and simple, it is the responsibility of the allies to shut down and dissolve the current government in order for change to be successful. The word reconciliation is just another form of pageantry, what we need is revolution. While the government is dissolved and being held accountable on all levels will allow Indigenous people to reclaim their land with less colonial attempts at killing us and our next seven generations.
